Penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia dalam Pidato Presiden Joko Widodo dalam Sidang Umum PBB Ke-76 dan Amanat pada Rakernas Forum Kerukunan Umat Beragama (FKUB)

Abstract

Indonesian has a lot of vocabulary and complex grammatical structures and can be used to express thoughts and ideas. Apart from that, Indonesian has a role as a unifier of the nation and a symbol of state sovereignty. In Law Article 32 Number 24 of 2009 concerning the Flag, Language and National Emblem and the National Anthem requires the use of Indonesian in national and international forums held in Indonesia. This research aims to determine the use of Indonesian in international forums. An analysis is needed to find out whether Indonesian has been used in national and international forums held in Indonesia. The method used in this research is a qualitative and quantitative data analysis method from transcripts of President Joko Widodo's speeches and addresses in two different forums. The results of the research show that the use of Indonesian is still not optimal in the two forums analyzed and there is still some use of loanwords and foreign languages.
